Pathway overview

For the spouse or minor children of a sponsor legally resident in Romania meeting income and accommodation requirements.

Verified via WebSearch, cross-referenced across multiple independent sources: you need an eligible family relationship — spouse, or unmarried minor child (including adopted children) in the sponsor's care and under their parental rights — with a sponsor who is a third-country national holding a valid Romanian residence permit (not itself for family reunification) or an EU Blue Card, usually for at least 1 year, showing income at least equal to Romania's national gross minimum wage per sponsored family member, and sufficient accommodation to support the family. The sponsor applies for IGI's family reunification approval first; once granted, the family member applies for the D visa at a Romanian consulate.
