Pathway overview
For dependants, partners, and spouses of Critical Skills Employment Permit holders or Researchers on a Hosting Agreement to work in Ireland.
Verified directly from enterprise.gov.ie: your sponsor must hold a valid Critical Skills Employment Permit, be a Researcher on a Hosting Agreement, or be a former holder of a Green Card/Critical Skills Employment Permit/Hosting Agreement now permitted by the Department of Justice to work without one. You must have resided in Ireland continually since arrival, not be in full-time education, and live with your sponsor. Your job must pay at least the National Minimum Wage, and the employer must have at least 50% of its workforce made up of EEA nationals. Spouses and de facto partners of Critical Skills Employment Permit/Hosting Agreement holders usually qualify for direct labour-market access instead (see the separate Join Family Visa for the Spouse/Partner of a CSEP or Hosting Agreement Holder) — this permit remains the real route for other dependants, such as children. Note: spouses, dependants, or partners of General Employment Permit holders are not eligible for this permit and must apply for a separate employment permit in their own right; applications for a dependant residing outside Ireland are not accepted.
