Verified directly from Home Affairs' own eligibility checklist for the Employer Sponsored stream. You must be nominated by an approved regional employer for an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list, have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, have a relevant skills assessment (unless exempt), work only for your sponsor (unless exempt), be under 45 years old (unless exempt), and meet Competent English (IELTS 6.0 in each band, or an equivalent approved test — confirmed from Home Affairs' own Competent English page). You can only live, work and study in designated regional areas; permanent residence can be applied for after 3 years. Cost: from AUD 6,140, as published at time of research. Labour Agreement and Subsequent Entrant streams have different criteria and are not covered by this rule set.
